Portrait Photographer
Don’t you worry I’m here to guide you in front of the camera
I have launched this little survey about how do you feel about having your photograph taken and why. While most of you don’t mind having their picture taken, what is holding you back is not knowing what to do in front of the camera, not looking at ease, or professional in your photos, in a word, not looking confident a result. That is why I wanted to write this blog post to reassure you, I’m here to guide you in front of the camera.
1.As a portrait photographer, it’s my job to make you look at your best
As I explained in previous blog posts looking confident in front of the camera starts well before your photoshoot.
- Clarity is key to a successful photo shoot. If you know what you want out of your pictures and explain it, then communicating with the photographer will be much easier. They will be able to translate your vision into reality for you to start living in those memories as soon as possible!
- You will feel more confident in front of the camera if you get involved with the creative process. How? I invite you to read the blog post about 5 steps to planning a stunning portrait photoshoot.
- Your personal style is something you’ve always had, and it will never change! Choose a wardrobe that makes you feel the most at ease and confident. If formal isn’t your forte, don’t force yourself to wear it! You are unique– let your clothing show that in your portraits! What you’re wearing will set the tone for the whole photoshoot so choose wisely.
2. As your portrait photographer I’m there to coach and guide in front of the camera
Honestly, no one knows what they’re doing when it comes to being in front of a camera. First things first, we tend to freeze when we see one. We then get stuck in our own head as we try to figure out how do I look? What does my nose look like? And while all these questions race through our minds, they continue racing without knowing because we become so self-conscious!
You will forget that you are being photographed and become less self-conscious when your portrait photographer engages in a conversation with you, guides and coaches in front of the camera, telling you exactly what to do. You might not get it at first, but that is fine; your photographer is there to demonstrate it for you. You will soon get the hang of it and enjoy the experience instead.
At the end of the day, having your portrait taken should be a fun and enjoyable experience where you get to have photos that you’re happy with looking confident and at ease in front of the camera. This is where I help you during your portrait photoshoot, by guiding and coaching you not to worry about anything when standing in front of the camera.
